The Role The Workplace Health Supervisor is responsible for the direct oversight of the business specific Workplace Health Team which consists of various Specialists and Administrators. Responsibilities of the Workplace Health Team include managing work-related injuries and illnesses with a strong emphasis placed on employee communication and customer services. The Workplace Health Supervisor will manage the workflow of this team, creating team schedules and delegating tasks in addition to ensuring that business goals, deadlines, and performance standards are met. The Workplace Health Supervisor will be responsible for training and onboarding new hires to ensure competency in their roles, while setting goals to ensure they are complying with the organizations plan and vision. An ideal candidate would guide their team through daily work activities or projects, and monitor employee performance to ensure maximum productivity and accuracy. Responsibilities: * Quarterly assessment of headcount to ensure adequate staffing models based on frequency and severity of injury/illness cases with supporting business justifications. * Management of day-to-day operations as it relates to case management and escalation. This includes monitoring internal injury management systems and email, engaging 3rd party claims administrator and provide oversight of investigation, and frequently engaging with employees to ensure a strong employee/employer relationship. * Responsible for the analysis and management of Workers Compensation files within their business support units. Assign action plans to claim files to move them towards closure. * Perform weekly audits and case reviews with Regional EHS partners for ASTM and OSHA recordable cases to ensure accuracy and maintain compliance to OSHA regulations * Quarterly Workers’ Compensation claim reviews to individually review cases for adequate progression of medical treatment, recovery, and case closure. * Manage escalations raised by specialists and production management by gathering statement of facts intervening during disputes of care and claim decisions. * Review data and define trends of injury and illness events while working with stakeholders to implement risk reduction plans. Skills Preferred: * Certifications - OSHA 300 Recordkeeping Course; OSHA 30: Construction and General Industry;; OHSA 7845: OSHA Recordkeeping Rule; CWCP: Certified Workers’ Compensation Professional; or RWCS: Registered Workers' Compensation Specialist * 3+ years of claims-related work experience, either employer led, insurance broker, carrier, or third-party administrator * Deep understanding of medical and legal terminology * Data analyzation and trend identification Eligibility Requirements * Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, preferably in Risk Management and Insurance (degree waived with industry claims certification or extensive experience in Workers Compensation management, ARM, or CPCU accreditation) * Background in customer service including conflict resolution * Microsoft Office skills, including proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Able to influence and communicate effectively with Supervisors and Associates * Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demands and tight deadlines * Well organized with meticulous attention to detail * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Quick, accurate data entry, and strong time management skills * Results-driven with a strong sense of urgency and able to drive results * Service oriented, treats colleagues as clients * Comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment where demands and priorities change rapidly * Enjoys working in a fast-paced, high growth environment
