At John Mini Distinctive Landscapes, we make places beautiful. Entering our fifth decade, we are the leader in indoor and outdoor landscaping and holiday design. We design, install and maintain landscapes all over the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut. We’re searching for a Vice President of Operations to join our team. This person will contribute to strategy and oversee the tactical execution of all business lines. You’ll work with and be accountable to an incredibly diverse and dynamic team. You’ll carry the responsibility of building and maintaining New York’s most marquee and transcendent public spaces. Character;
Deliver and receive feedback in pursuit of personal growth and team development, Effect and manage change through patience and thoughtful communication, Display resilience through service setbacks, Thoughtful decision making through unexpected operational setbacks


Team Management;
Ongoing refinement and investment in employee development, Assist in creative recruiting approaches, onboarding, and team training


Goals and Finance;
Develop budgets/forecasts for all business lines, Manage to forecasts with a long-term approach that is sustainable, Develop and present goals for our company’s key measurements


Customer Focused;
Nurture client relationships and account management sales, Innovate to develop or adapt swiftly to on new “value adds” for customers in the service industry


Safety and Operations;
Develop and oversee operation strategy for distribution and service that ensures John Mini meets its objectives for growth, quality and customer experience standards. Relentless focus on team safety and nurturing of an operational culture that prioritizes safety


If you meet the following qualifications, we’d love to hear from you:


  • Resilient and patient
  • Thoughtful decision making in difficult situations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks at a high level
  • 10 years management experience
  • Career experience in landscape, manufacturing or service industries
  • P&L management experience
  • Demonstrated leader of multiple business units
  • Strategic planner in operations and account management
  • Understanding of technology and finance
  • Track record of productivity improvement
  • Proven customer satisfaction initiatives
  • BS/BA or equivalent, MBA or MS preferred
