If so, The Division of Medicaid, specifically the Healthy Connections Consolidated Unit is seeking a Technical Records Specialist 2. The Technical Records Specialist 2 is the first point of contact for the Healthy Connections program. This team will consist of 3 staff who handle on average 180 phone calls each day and process an average of 6500 Healthy Connections enrollments each month. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to providing excellent customer service, works well in a team-based atmosphere and is able to multi-task.

The location of the position will be based on the applicant selected. This position could be based out of our Coeur d'Alene (Region 1) field office, Lewiston (Region 2) field offices, Caldwell (Region 3) field office, Boise (Region 4) field office, Twin Falls (Region 5) field office, Pocatello (Region 6) field office or Idaho Falls (Region 7) field office.

This is primarily a Monday through Friday 8am-5pm position. Currently, this job is flexible in terms of remote work versus on-site work.

Our generous benefits package increases the total compensation of a full-time (benefits eligible) Technical Records Specialist 2 making $18.46/hour to an estimated $28.44/hour.

Example of Duties

  • Perform complex and difficult program support functions for multiple or highly specialized programs requiring extensive knowledge of department programs and objectives
  • Have the authority, knowledge, and judgment to devise solutions that fall outside existing policies and procedures
  • Problem solve and negotiate with authority to act on decisions made
  • Serve as a program expert and provide guidance and assistance regarding complex program rules and regulations to office staff and external customers
  • Frequent contact with internal and external customers, which requires good public relations skills
  • Function with considerable independence and exercise discretion in applying policies and procedures

  • Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
  • Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying laws, regulations, and complex policies for multiple or highly specialized programs
  • Experience analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve problems or issues
  • Experience dealing with individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds in stressful situations
  • Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized record system
  • Experience composing and proofreading business correspondence
