The Institute for Labor Studies & Research provides education and training that enables working Rhode Islanders and the labor movement to have a stronger voice in the workplace, to participate more effectively in the changing global economy, and to create a more just and equitable society.
ILSR is looking for a self-motivated and experienced teacher to join our qualified team of educators for our Teacher Assistant Training Program. This candidate will deliver engaging presentations to diverse groups of adult students in a virtual classroom, adhere to RIDE approved curriculum standards, and grade student assignments. Training provided.
Job Duties:
- Facilitate lesson plans which are RIDE approved
- Assign and grade assignments
- Communicate with other staff members who engage with students
- Attend occasional TA instructor meetings
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in teaching or relevant field.
- MUST HAVE RHODE ISLAND TEACHER'S LICENSE
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a teacher.
- Strong computer skills and familiarity with Google Drive, PowerPoint, and Zoom.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well-organized and detail oriented.
- Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $35.00 per hour

Visitors and staff are encouraged to wear masks covering nose and mouth.
License/Certification:
- Rhode Island Teacher's License (Required)
