Job Summary The University of Kentucky Athletics Communications & Public Relations (ACPR) department is seeking an Assistant Director. This position is the primary contact for women’s basketball and will serve as a secondary contact for football. The incumbent is responsible for managing all communication and media relations efforts for women’s basketball and assisting in football. Duties include writing, editing, designing and distributing various publications (press releases, game notes), and assisting in the management of content on the official athletics website. The incumbent is also responsible for developing and fostering relationships and generating story ideas for local, national, and hometown media. They will also coordinate interviews between student-athletes, coaches and staff and local, regional and national media, manage press operations at home events and report team results and feature story ideas to local, regional and national media.

A Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of two years working with an intercollegiate athletic department is strongly preferred.

Must comply with NCAA, SEC and University rules, regulations and policies.
