Position: Remote Customer Care Specialist

Position Level: Reports to Head of Family Services/Director of People Operations

Leading Edge Before & After School is a leading provider of extended day learning programs for children at preschool, elementary and middle schools across the country. With a focus on academic skills, Leading Edge uses research-based programming to reinforce classroom learning with compelling activities that also target social and emotional development, physical well-being, and foster teamwork. Leading Edge after school and summer programs are led by experienced educators in safe and nurturing environments. Leading Edge continuously delivers exciting, motivating and fun activities for children that extend their learning into the out-of-school-time environment.

Salary: This is a remote, part-time position at $16-$19 per hour. The hours are 2PM - 7PM ET / 12PM - 5PM MT, Monday through Friday.

The Customer Care Specialist’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide prompt and accurate information to customers about Leading Edge programs.
  • Assist customers with program registration and billing concerns.
  • Multi-task with communications to include phone calls, text, and email.
  • Answer incoming calls and perform follow-up calls to customers using our phone system, RingCentral.
  • Follow up with customers through our email ticketing system, HubSpot.
  • Maintain customer accounts by recording notes, invoices, debits, and credits.
  • Responsible for the state subsidy process including voucher completion, attendance reporting, parent account follow-up, payment collection, and account suspension.
  • Strong attention to detail and exceptional follow-through.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ensure a polite and professional demeanor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Bilingual in Spanish or Arabic preferred.
  • Experience in call center customer service 1 year preferred.
  • Proficient use of web-based products, ‘tech-savvy’.
  • Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Working Environment and Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work remotely, including:

  • Reliable Internet/Wi-Fi connection.
  • Quiet, professional space to work in while on shift.
  • A laptop, printer, and headset will be provided, if needed.
