SURESTAFF is immediately hiring a Set Up Technician for a client that supplies customized insert molding and electromechanical assemblies in Elgin, IL. As a Production Set Up Technician, you will be an essential part of our client’ s core operations, ensuring that quality product is received, processed, and delivered in a timely manner according to client expectations.

Set Up Technician Shift Hours: (2nd) 2pm-10: 30pm (3rd) 10pm-6: 30am, mandatory rotating weekends
Set Up Technician Pay Rates: Starting pay is $20-$25 depending on experience
Duties & Responsibilities of the Set Up Technician:

• Prepare machine for production by positioning and securing dies, stops, guides, and turntables.
• Safely and effectively operates equipment to produce quality product
• Reads job specifications and previous run data (if available) to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Ensures job is in order prior to machine set-up.
• Performs required quality testing on products produced.
• Performs required quality testing on products produced, i.e. burst test, drop test, water table test, etc.
• Observes machine operation to detect piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Makes corrections to alleviate out of specification product.
• Position will entail standing for long periods of the day and lifting up to 50 pounds during shift.

Required Qualifications of the Set Up Technician :

• Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembling, and/or machine operating.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is essential.
• Flexibility to work overtime and extra shifts as needed.
• Experience reading and interpreting production specifications a plus.
• Prior experience as Set up / Mold Technician in plastics manufacturing required.
