Principal Technical Instructor Responsibilities

  • Holds up as a standard of excellence in delivering effective, well-managed and well-facilitated customer training on programming with Commerce Cloud APIs (B2C and B2B)

  • Provides best practices to learners on IDE based development

  • Delivery training over virtual and onsite classroom

  • Consistently receive 4.7 or higher average (out of 5) scores from student surveys, the primary measure of customer satisfaction

  • Leads the way for adoption of new products/technology within Trailhead

  • Answers questions posed/posted by other instructors and documents answers for future use

  • Responsible for certifying instructor candidates and existing instructors to deliver Trailhead Academy curriculum.

  • Mentor and audit certified and candidate instructors in their region/path on product knowledge and delivery standard methodologies

  • Provide constructive feedback to candidate instructors and summary reports to the regional Instructor Certification lead on candidate performance and progress

  • Lead and participate in community conversations to optimize training materials, instructor technical knowledge and raise issues for discussion/resolutionWork closely with Content Product & Program team to develop and improve course content and event sessions

  • Proactively promotes the Trailhead training catalogue of offerings such as learning paths, certification and additional training courses with customers, both in and out of the classroom

  • Passes leads to the Training Account Executives to contribute the team revenue targets

  • Assist with scoping private workshops and develop a tailored yet effective agenda for delivery

  • Delivers 25-30 days of training per quarter; up to 50% travel may be required

  • Learn cross-cloud skills and courses (for example, Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud)

Principal Technical Instructor Experience/Skills

  • Proven track record in delivering effective, interactive technical training to large audiences (10+ students) for a minimum of 5 years using both classroom and virtual environments

  • Demonstrated knowledge of object-oriented programming (any of these: Java, C++, C#, Java EE)

  • Experience with Visual Studio Code or similar IDE

  • Experience developing dynamic e-commerce web applications using HTML, XML, CSS, JavaScript, and Web Services

  • Experience with e-commerce preferred

  • Experience with Google Slides, Google Presentation and web conferencing tools like Zoom

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)

  • Implementation experience with customers on solutions, comfortable having discussions with all levels of management including C-Level

  • Ability to learn products quickly

  • Knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles

  • Excellent organizational and planning skills with a strong attention to detail

  • Ability to establish priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to travel up to 50% (we anticipate drop in this as we develop and roll out online training products)

  • Customer-focused team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Able to anticipate customer satisfaction issues and work to proactively mitigate

  • Solution-focussed - exhibits enthusiasm, positive professional attitude, integrity and consistent reliability

  • Able to work effectively in unstable situations and/or in unforeseen circumstances to bring about positive results

  • Consistently complete tasks in a quality manner within a specified timeframe

  • Plan and initiate actions to support all instructors in designated path, both within Salesforce as well as the broader partner community globally

  • Able to balance personal needs and enablement of others

  • Can successfully work autonomously

  • Consistently enable others with a scalable approach for maximum effectiveness and global success

  • Can provide constructive feedback to other instructors in a positive environment that promotes success

  • Experience with Data Analytics a plus

For Colorado-based roles: Minimum annual salary of $104,000. You may also be entitled to receive incentive compensation, bonus, restricted stock units, and benefits.
