Virginia Oncology Care is recruiting a highly motivated, hematology/medical oncology PA for a full-time position. This individual would cover administrative and clinical responsibilities. All experienced or newly graduating PA are encouraged to apply. This hematology/oncology practice combines the best of both an office-based practice and a hospital-based practice. · Provides oncology-specific therapeutic care in holistic and systemic way to include the assessment and overall management of care for oncology/hematology patients under physician supervision.

· Exercises independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures in accordance with the PA licensure regulations.

· Responsible for the care of his/her patients, including (but not limited to), evaluating the patient at each clinic visit; management of symptoms related to the patient’s cancer and/or treatment; educating the patient about their disease;working with other disciplines (e.g. surgical oncology, radiation oncology) and staff members to ensure the patient receives the proper diagnostic evaluation and treatment in a timely manner.

· Prescribe drug therapies per protocol/physician consultation.

· Offer individualized assistance to patients, families, and caregivers to help overcome healthcare system barriers.

· Provide education and resources to facilitate informed decision making and timely access to quality health and care throughout all phases of the cancer continuum.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Successful completion of an accredited PA program. Eligible for or active state license as a PA in Virginia.
