  • Essential Job Functions
      Essential Functions I

      • Performs reception responsibilities for visitors, and answers telephone/routes calls for work area/department.
        • Demonstrates good communication style, and interpersonal communication skills.
        • Provides prompt response, and follow-up.
        • When applicable, screens customers/visitors according to protocol.
      • Copies, scans, faxes, and distributes documents, may label, and ensure completeness of records/documents prior to distribution; efficiently gathers, distributes, and routes mail.
        • Scans documents within 24 hours.
        • Distributes/routes faxes daily.
        • Record keeping completed as needed.
      • Types agendas, correspondence, memoranda, forms, and standard documents with minimal errors.
        • Types correspondence from rough draft, and uses software to produce quality correspondence.
          • This means proper sentence structure, no misspellings, proper grammar, and appropriate format.
          • Work must be proofread, and error free in it's final form.
          • Turn around time 2 working days.
        • Uses computer system to produce graphs, and reports as requested in a timely, and accurate manner.
          • Completed by due date requested.
      • Maintains organized filing system.
        • Supports Business Office personnel with online, and paper documentation filing.
      • Claim processing for EOB remittances.
        • Accurately research, and print EOB encounter for each claim within 48 hours.
      • Orients others to departmental processes, standards, and procedures.
        • Assist supervisor with new hire training, and cross training.
      • Obtains, organizes, or extracts data/information for reports, and/or presentations.
        • Obtains, and extracts data to create tasks within designated timeframes.
      • Schedules appointments, meetings, equipment, rooms, and assists staff with calendar scheduling as needed.
        • Confers with appropriate personnel.
      • MRN's to FAF Applications
        • Look up, and add all MRN's for the family per application once application has been received.
        • Create spreadsheet with the name, and MRN's, and send to GSB.
      • Financial Assistance Forms
        • Letters send upon receipt or no later than 5 business days.
        • Calculate, and adjust charity adjustments timely, and accurately.
        • Verify documentation, scan payment worksheet for refunds.
      • Vendor invoices are processed timely, and accurately.
        • Invoices are paid upon receipt or at least within 30 days.
        • Invoices are processed accurately.
        • Specific invoices may require pulling information or calculating data to complete for processing.
      • Return Mail
        • Patient statements, and statement vendor reports worked within 30 days upon receipt.
          • Return mail must be worked before the next statement is dropped.
      • Ambulance invoices processed timely, and accurately.
        • Review account detail.
        • Add charge to billing system.
        • Process check request.
      • Claims Work Item Processing
        • Accurately complete, and process work items within 24 hour turnaround time.
      • Utilizes different systems/software/websites.
        • Creates, and files documents electronically within timeframes.
      • Pending Claims Correspondence.
        • Research in RCA, and add comment on correct encounter/claim.

      Essential Functions II

      • Participates in mandatory in-services and/or CE programs as mandated by policies and procedures/external agencies and as directed by management.
      • Follows and understands the mission, vision, core values, Employee Standards of Behavior and company policies/procedures.
      • Other duties as assigned.
