Who You'll Work WithYou’ll join one of our US offices and work with our McKinsey’s Healthcare Practice colleagues across North America. Our healthcare practice is home to 500+ colleagues in North America consisting of consultants, experts, technologists, and operational leaders. We come together, often as blended teams to work with payors, providers and services companies in both public and private sectors. Our practice is organized around service lines (or “domains”), which house intellectual property and expert practitioners on segments of the healthcare industry. Examples of our domains include: Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, Medical Care Management, Service Operations, and others.
What You'll DoYou will maintain deep, specialized expertise in Medicare topics (e.g. product & pricing, sales & distribution, Stars, risk revenue, operations) and use that expertise to solve problems and serve as trusted advisor to clients to create change and lasting impact. You will work in different projects, at first one project at a time, alongside a small team of colleagues. We engage at a deep level across our clients’ businesses, working to build the capabilities, systems, and processes needed to deliver sustainable impact. Our work is about problem solving, coaching, and delivering lasting outcomes. You will provide input into the development and codification of distinctive, client-ready knowledge and analytical assets on Medicare topics, and will leverage these assets in your client work (projects).
- Undergraduate or master’s degree; MBA, MHA preferred
- 3+ years of experience in Medicare (i.e., at a health plan, Medicare consulting firm, services organization, or startup), with increasing responsibility and leadership
- Experience in and strong knowledge of healthcare sector overall and Medicare in particular (e.g., CMS rules and regulations, Stars program experience, code capture and risk adjustment, individual and group Medicare product and others)
- Experience designing, building, and/or deploying analytical assets in a professional services environment using healthcare data (e.g., claims data), through commanding resources from across domains
