Reporting to the SCM Logistics Manager, located in Houston, TX, the Logistics Advisor provides logistics support across all MCBU operations / functions, eg.- Drilling, Completions, Ops, FE teams. The role is responsible for translating the logistics demand of the various MCBU teams for planning, scheduling, and execution purposes to ensure equipment with the right capabilities are available to support operations. The Logistics Advisor supports the development of the Logistics Team’s understanding of customer field based operational processes, as well as the customers understanding of Logistics strategies, processes, and capabilities. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: This role is principally responsible for providing field oversight and support for all field based logistics coordinator positions. This position supports all field-based logistics requirements and operational oversight of Freight, Water, Waste, and material deliveries in Company Assets with focus in West TX, East TX, and New Mexico operating areas in support of Operations and Wells functions to ensure optimized Chevron Logistics activities. Evaluate Logistics performance across MCBU field operations to identify pain points and opportunity areas. In addition, this role will also have overall responsibility to help business customer/SME to identify needs and collaborate with the Logistics Planning manager for strategic logistics projects. Must have the ability to work with cross-functional teams leveraging digital solutions and effectively communicate across all levels within the Business Unit in a fast paced and dynamic environment. Works cross-functionally to promote One Team culture. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Provide guidance to Logistics Coordinators
  • Interfaces with our 3rd party service providers regularly
  • Provides feedback on transportation supplier performance and issues as well as manages the 3rd party Logistics Operational relationship
  • Front line accountability and leadership for all field based Logistics requirements.
  • Works as an internal consultant to drive efficiency into logistics activities both in primary and secondary/outsourced logistics.
  • Ensure effective oversight of coordination of all Logistics service requirements for field based MCBU customers ensuring reduction in road transport exposure and cost while achieving full partner satisfaction.
  • Identify and ensure breakdowns in Logistics support work processes and systems are corrected/improved.
  • Track Logistics KPIs, ensure periodic review with stakeholders and demonstrate visible improvements.
  • Ensure contractors compliant to all company HSE and Motor Vehicle standards and processes in place to reduce incidents related to Water, oil, and Freight hauling.
  • Identify and eliminate Logistics and related areas of waste and demonstrate improvements in support of the reduction in OPEX and CAPEX spend.
  • Balancing focus on strategic Logistics support projects and coordinating operations in field while remaining effective on both fronts.
  • Integration of activities across Asset Teams to reduce life cycle costs.
  • Serve as Logistics Supervisor – Source Control Branch on the MCBU Emergency Response Team and actively participate in Emergency Response Drills, Training, and Events
  • Provide subject matter expertise across various projects, activities, and services
  • Up to 50% travel within MCBU operational areas required.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years work experience in Oil and Gas industry (direct or indirect)
  • Experience in leading a team of 5 or more.
  • Experience with analyzing and organizing data.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse team of coworkers, contractors, as well as internal and external customers.
  • Ability to analyze data to draw valid conclusions, identify root causes and solve problems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of tools and software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or Business.
  • Operational Experience in Oil/Gas Drilling, Completions, or Operations functions
  • Direct experience in Logistics/Land Transportation
  • 5+ years direct experience in Supply Chain Operations or Logistics supporting Oil and Gas industry
