Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training and Certification Team is looking for a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented Learning Experience Designer, who possesses a unique balance of technical depth, business knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills. This role will be responsible for designing and guiding the development of new technical training offerings at AWS. You will partner with several program teams at AWS to design and craft content to educate AWS customers, partners and other learners. You will have the opportunity to shape and deliver a strategy for new educational content, services, and features across a breadth of technical domains.

The ideal candidate is an innovative, driven, problem solving Learning Experience Designer with experience working across multiple instructional delivery modalities to create high-quality learning experiences, that support our growing learning community. The Learning Experience Designer will curate and design learning solutions that align with the needs of our users, and guide them through their education in cloud services. The ideal candidate will be an organized self-starter with a strong bias for action and the ability to work with cross-functional teams to provide guidance for projects.

The content may include structured, formal classroom learning (ILT) with hands-on labs, as well as online synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences, to help our learners achieve the competencies required to be successful in the marketplace with AWS technologies. The Learning Experience Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts and program managers to plan and design the program offerings. The role requires an individual who is knowledgeable in adult learning theory and instructional design strategies for performance-based outcomes, who can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before.

Some travel will be required for this role (10-25%)

Key job functions (including, but not limited to):

  • Manage the design of the overall learning experience presented to the learner
  • Direct and guide learning design for internal and/or external subject matter experts enlisted to produce and publish technical content
  • Be the voice of the learner, ensuring that their needs are at the forefront of our content efforts and help our team iterate and improve on our content offerings
