Position Overview

Under general direction of the Human Resources Director, performs specialized human resource activities in the Human Resource Office of Chicago-Read Mental Health Center; processes personnel transactions, interprets Personnel Rules, Pay Plan and contract agreements; administers the Groups Insurance Program and Deferred Compensation Program. Serves as office receptionist.


Job Responsibilities

1. Performs specialized human resource activities in the Human Resource Office of Chicago-Read Mental Health Center.


2. Administers the Worker’s Compensation Program for the facility.


3. Administers the Group Insurance Program and Deferred Compensation. Explains the various plans to employees.


4. Composes and keyboards routine correspondence, letters and reports; maintains policy and procedure manuals.


5. Serves as office receptionist and responds to inquiries regarding employment to general public.


6. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.


Minimum Qualifications

1. Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.


2. Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 30 wpm.

Conditions of Employment

1. Requires the ability to meet all agency vaccine/health-related Policies and guidance.

2. Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.

3. Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois law.
