We are seeking a leader that can not only build, compliment, and guide our laboratory operations team, but thrive as a team member that enjoys planning and owning responsibility for scaling operations and developing, carrying out, and leading strategy and processes for clinical laboratory production implementation, control and improvement.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a growing team of clinical laboratory scientists, technicians, accessioners, subject matter experts, and leaders; anticipate 5 direct reports with a clinical laboratory team transitioning from a few dozen to 200+ team members over the next few years
  • Responsible for providing strategic support to cross functional efforts related to equipment, automation, reagent manufacturing, quality, EHS/facilities, supply chain, tech transfer, assay development, and more.
  • Guide and coach Operations leads to develop capacity and efficiency planning with final review and responsibility for successful implementation to support year over year growth
  • Responsible for defining laboratory layout and optimization of space planning to allow for efficient execution of laboratory operations
  • Support the effort of upstream process definition, improvement and troubleshooting by appropriate use of resources and by collaborating with other teams such as R&D, Quality, Supply Chain, and Laboratory Operations Support
  • In collaboration with cross functional teams and laboratory operations, ensure timely and successful implementation of new technologies; assay, instrumentation, consumables; and their introduction into a GCP/GLP environment
  • Provide strategic support for new assay launches as an operational and technical stakeholder through process development, tech transfer and clinical validation

What you bring:

  • Bachelors Degree and 10+ years of leadership experience in a lab or manufacturing setting
  • Experience in an ISO 13485/15189, GMP, GLP and or CAP/CLIA environment
  • Validation experience in bringing new assays from assay development into production
  • Working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations
  • Experience in operational quality including a history of successful collaboration with Supply Chain, Quality, Laboratory Operations Support, and development partners
  • Working knowledge of d/pFMEA, CAPA, RCA

  • Advanced analytical and operational skills with an ability to identify relevant insights from complex data
  • Confirmed ability to look at problems creatively and an ability to deliver actionable results to the most complex problems
  • Self-starter who thrives in ambiguity, where urgent versus important requests are easily balanced in our fast paced environment
  • Ability to deliver on end-to-end projects with a high level of autonomy
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level understanding of scaling and capacity planning
